Brightcove recently announced they're no longer supporting accounts that have signed up for free service. Accounts with free service will be disabled starting December 15, 2008.
In anticipation of this closure I did some research and found that Viddler is a great alternative web video solution. While some of their players may not offer the flexiblity that Brightcove has, the players they do provide have excellent viral features and are very straightforward to implement.
